Joined by MLA Neelam Pahalwan, Ward Committee Chair Savita Sharma, Deputy Chair Devender Dabas, and senior officials, the session spotlighted public complaints about irregular garbage collection by auto tippers.
Taking serious note of missed schedules and hygiene lapses, Yadav directed officials and contractors to increase the frequency of garbage pickups and restore public confidence in basic services. He emphasized that clean streets are not optionalтАФtheyтАЩre a civic right.
Beyond sanitation, the meeting also tackled the condition of parks and MCD roads. The Deputy Mayor instructed teams to accelerate repair and maintenance efforts, ensuring residents enjoy safe, green, and well-kept public spaces.
Calling for inter-departmental coordination, Yadav reiterated that timely service delivery and citizen satisfaction must be the cornerstone of urban governance in Najafgarh.
One day before Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh claimed that special cleanliness teams were deployed in all zones to undertake intensive cleaning, desilting of drains, garbage removal, and washing of ghats. The MCD also ensured fogging, installation of dustbins, deployment of water sprinklers, proper lighting, and beautification of the ghats. Horticulture teams were engaged to enhance the surroundings, while senior officials, including Deputy Commissioners and zonal sanitation staff, closely monitored the arrangements to maintain cleanliness throughout the festival period.
After the conclusion of the celebrations, a large-scale post-Chhath cleaning drive was launched to clear the sites of accumulated waste and restore the ghats to their original condition. Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh appealed to citizens to cooperate with the Corporation in keeping the ghats and surrounding areas clean, reaffirming MCDтАЩs commitment to maintaining public health, hygiene, and environmental sustainability during major festivals.
