MCD standing committee chairperson Satya Sharma directs expansion of healthcare services at Kalkaji hospital

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Standing Committee chairperson Satya Sharma on Wednesday directed officials to expand healthcare services at Purnima Sethi Multi-Speciality Hospital in Kalkaji, emphasising the need to make full use of the available infrastructure and resources.

Sharma, accompanied by MCD Additional Commissioner Pankaj Naresh Agarwal, inspected the hospital and reviewed the healthcare services being provided to patients. She also interacted with patients to assess the facilities available to them and inspected the Ayushman Arogya Mandir and dialysis facility operating at the hospital.

Sharma observed that despite having adequate space and infrastructure, the hospital was providing healthcare services on a limited scale. She stressed the need to utilise its existing capacity and introduce additional facilities to improve access to medical care for residents of Kalkaji and nearby areas.

She directed Agarwal to assess the available space and resources, explore the feasibility of introducing additional healthcare services and prepare a concrete action plan to ensure the hospital functions at its full capacity.

Providing accessible and quality healthcare to citizens remains a priority for the MCD, Sharma said, emphasising that the available infrastructure must be utilised optimally to benefit a larger number of people.

Kalkaji councillor Yogita Singh, Delhi BJP general secretary Neetu Chaudhary, who is also chairperson of the South East Ward Committee, and other MCD officials were present during the inspection.
