Delhi Property Tax: Lump-Sum Payment Rebate Extended by One Month

The Mayor of Delhi, Pravesh Wahi, today announced that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has extended the last date for availing the special 10% rebate on lump-sum payment of property tax for the Financial Year 2026–27 from June 30, 2026, to July 31, 2026. The decision has been taken with the objective of enabling a larger number of taxpayers to benefit from the rebate.

The Mayor stated that the extension has been granted keeping in view the convenience of property taxpayers who, due to various reasons, were unable to pay their property tax within the stipulated time and avail themselves of the 10% rebate. He said that the Corporation remains committed to providing greater convenience to citizens while encouraging timely payment of property taxes.

Pravesh Wahi further said that the extension of the deadline would provide relief to all sincere and responsible taxpayers who have not yet been able to deposit their property tax. While citizens will benefit financially through the rebate, the measure is also expected to enhance the Corporation’s revenue, thereby strengthening civic infrastructure, sanitation, healthcare, public amenities, and other essential municipal services across the national capital.

Appealing to all property taxpayers, the Mayor urged them to make the most of this opportunity by paying their property tax in a lump sum before July 31, 2026, and avail themselves of the 10% rebate being offered by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The Mayor also clarified that there is little likelihood of any further extension of the deadline for lump-sum property tax payment.

He, therefore, urged all taxpayers not to wait until the last moment and to fulfil their civic responsibility by making the payment within the prescribed time.Expressing confidence in the citizens of Delhi, Pravesh Wahi said that, as always, Delhiites would continue to support the development of the city by paying their property taxes on time and contributing to the Corporation’s efforts to provide better civic services.
