Municipal Corporation of Delhi commenced a two day training programme for senior MCD engineers at MCD Headquarters today.
MCD commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar graced the inaugural session as the Chief Guest. The two day refresher course and training programme for civil and electrical engineers is being organised by Planning department of MCD in collabration with National CPWD Academy Ghaziabad and its esteemed faculty.
Addresing the participants of training programme, MCD commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar emphasised on the need to imbibe new learning especially in this day and age of technology and AI driven world. Khirwar stated that continous learning and updating of technical knowledge have become essential in such a rapidly changing environment.
The Commissioner Khirwar expressed confidence that the knowledge and practical insight shared by experienced faculty members during this training course will immensely benefit all participating officers.
This will contribute towards better civic infrastructure and public service delivery in Delhi, he stated.
The programme aims to enhance the technical knowledge, Capacity building and competencies of engineering participants. The training will help officers in better decision making and managment of public projects.
The programme delibrated on important subject such as General Conditions of Contract, contractual issues, quality assurance, CPWD Manual, Public private partner projects and use of Artificial Intelligence in civil engineering.
More than 100 officials comprising Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers of MCD actively took part in this training program along with CPWD senior engineers.
Senior officials from Zones and headquarter actively participated in discussions and clarified their doubts during sessions on contract managment and CPWD provisions.
MCD Addl Commissioner Engineering L D Meghwal, Engineer-in-Chief PC Meena, Maneesh Rastogi consultant planning MCD and Addl Director General (T&R) CPWD Manoj Kumar were also present on the occasion. Beside them two Addl Director General & two Chief Engineer and a Superintending Engineer from CPWD were also present.
