Delhi Police’s Mandawali Police Station has arrested a 30-year-old man, Kaushik Raj alias Ankit Singh alias Aniket Singh Rajpoot, for allegedly cheating aspiring models and women by posing as a successful businessman in the fashion, advertising and event management industry.
According to police, the accused allegedly lured victims with fake modelling assignments from a reputed mobile manufacturing company and also deceived women through false promises of marriage. The total alleged fraud is estimated at around ₹33.51 lakh.
An FIR (No. 201/2026) has been registered at PS Mandawali under Sections 318(4)/319 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
During the investigation, police found that the accused allegedly operated under multiple aliases, used fake identities, forged biodata and provided false residential addresses to gain the trust of victims.
Police said he allegedly prepared forged modelling agreements, collected refundable security deposits and also took money in the name of wedding arrangements, hotel bookings, travel expenses and boutique registrations.
During the operation, police recovered a mobile phone containing WhatsApp chats with the complainant and cheque books linked to three different bank accounts.
Investigators further revealed that the accused had previously been arrested in a cyber fraud case involving fake concert tickets. He was earlier booked by PS Cyber Crime, South District, Delhi (2024) and PS Mulund, Maharashtra (2026).
Police said several other complaints alleging a similar modus operandi are pending against him in Delhi, Maharashtra, Noida, Gurugram and West Bengal.
Further investigation is underway to trace the money trail, verify forged documents, identify additional victims and ascertain whether other associates were involved in the alleged fraud.
