The Municipal Corporation of Delhi, City Sadar Paharganj Zone, today organized a grand program “Swachhata Ki Pathshala” at Town Hall, Chandni Chowk. On this occasion, local councillor Rafia and Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Kumar graced the event as special guests. Deputy Commissioner Anshul Sirohi was also present.
Through musical and cultural performances, citizens were given the message of cleanliness. Based on the theme “From Heart to Heart, a Melodious Message of Cleanliness”, the program aimed to spread awareness in society and encourage community participation.
The soulful evening of “Swachhata Ki Pathshala” began with an expressive Kathak dance performance by Sakshi Vaidya. This was followed by classical and semi-classical renditions by Delhi University music professors Dr. Vivek Prajapati and Dr. Aashiq Kumar, who also captivated the audience with Sufi verses of Amir Khusro on popular demand. A play conveying the message of cleanliness was also staged during the program.
Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Kumar said that a clean and healthy Delhi is our top priority. The Corporation is continuously working to further strengthen the sanitation system. However, this mission will only succeed with active participation from every section of society. He appealed to all citizens to make this cleanliness campaign a people’s movement. The Commissioner praised all the artists for their excellent performances and assured that such programs will continue to be organized regularly by the Corporation.
In the program, children from municipal schools were also awarded for their beautiful paintings conveying the message of cleanliness.
