Vector Borne Diseases (Dengue, Malaria and Chikungunya): MCDs Public health department issues 939 legal notices and launches 209 Prosecutions

Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s Public health department carried out a special checking drive to prevent mosquito breeding at source. MCDs Public health department regularly checks vulnerable spots and departments in campaign mode. In this continuation, a special drive has been conducted at all the zones of MCD to check the Vulnerable Localities for breeding of mosquitoes. In this special drive 1,2,344 premises have been checked. 1415 Breeding of mosquitoes were found and destroyed on the spot and anti larval  activities has been done. MCDs Public health department pasted 3408 stickers and 197 Polyfoam Charts/ Banners have been displayed, 939 legal notices and 209 Prosecution have been launched. 

Vector Borne Diseases (Dengue, Malaria and Chikungunya) are transmitted through Aedes and Anopheles mosquitoes. Aedes mosquito which breeds in the clean stored water i.e. drums, coolers, tin, tyre, kabad, flower pots, money plants, overhead tanks etc. Mosquito breeding is very easily preventable by prevention of water stagnation at source. There are several departments which are highly potential from mosquito breeding point of view namely Construction sites, Parks and Nurseries, Govt. Offices, Police Stations with Malkhana, DTC Depots, DDA, Delhi Jal Board, Drains, Water Bodies, Monuments,Tourist Spots including Vulnerable Localities.
