The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that metro services will begin at 4:00 AM on polling and counting days during the upcoming Municipal Corporation bye-elections. This step has been taken to ensure smooth and timely movement of polling personnel and election staff.
On Sunday, 30th November 2025, the polling day, metro services from all terminal stations will commence at 4:00 AM. Trains will run at intervals of 30 minutes until 6:00 AM, after which services will continue as per the regular Sunday timetable. Additionally, the last train service from all terminal stations will be available at 11:30 PM, which is half an hour later than usual.
On Wednesday, 3rd December 2025, the counting day, the same arrangement will be implemented. Services will start at 4:00 AM and run at 30-minute intervals until 6:00 AM, followed by operations according to the regular weekday timetable.
Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director (Corporate Communications) of DMRC, stated that this special arrangement has been made to facilitate the smooth conduct of the election process and to provide convenience to polling personnel. He emphasized that Delhi Metro has always prioritized the comfort of citizens during important events and occasions in the national capital.
This decision will benefit not only election staff but also ordinary citizens, ensuring better transport facilities on both polling and counting days.
