Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav said that Home Minister Amit Shah should forthwith tender his resignation as he has lost the moral and ethical rights to remain in power after the deadly bomb blast near the Red Fort metro station which claimed many innocent lives and maimed/seriously injured several others as the security agencies, which are under the direct control of the Home Minister, failed to spot the terrorist who roamed around the heart of the Capital, including Connaught Place, for 11 years before heading towards the Red Fort metro station to create mayhem and bloodshed. He said that Amit Shah should have quit after 26 innocent tourists were killed in the Pahalgam terrorist attacks, Pulwama attack and several other security breaches in Jammu and Kashmir over the past few years, but he has clung to his post like a limpet without bothering about the havoc wrought about by his inefficient handling of the Home Ministry due to total failure of security in the country.
Devender Yadav said that mere expression of soothing words by Amit Shah and PM Modi will not heal the deep wounds of those who were victims of the bomb blast. He said that the Rs 10 lakh compensation announced by Delhi CM Rekha Gupta for each of the family of the dead and Rs 5 lakh each for the permanently disabled and Rs 2 lakh each for the seriously injured were peanuts, which will not in any manner compensate for the massive losses suffered by several families.
He said that Delhi Congress had demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh each for the families of the deceased even though any amount of money would not heal the pain of the families of the bomb blast victims. He said that after the Mumbai terrorist attacks in 2008 then UPA Government’s Home Minister Shivraj Patel had resigned, but Amit Shah continues in power non-challantly even after the Pahalgam massacre of 26 innocent lives by Pak terrorists despite it being a massive intelligence failure for which Amit Shah should have been made accountable.
