At 11:03 AM today, panic gripped Alipur in Delhi after an under-construction building suddenly collapsed during lintel work, triggering fears that several labourers were trapped under the debris. Police, fire, and disaster management teams rushed to the spot with ambulances, but swift verification confirmed that all workers were safe and accounted for, with no casualties reported.
At around 11:03 AM, a call was received regarding the collapse of an under-construction building in Alipur, Delhi. Initial reports suggested that 5–6 persons were trapped under debris.
On receipt of information, the entire staff of PS Alipur rushed to the spot along with 4 ambulances, 1 fire tender, and 1 Disaster Management vehicle.
Enquiry revealed that the building was under construction and lintel work was in progress at the time of the incident. Preliminary findings indicate that the supporting shuttering (balli) gave way, leading to the collapse.
Labourers were present at the site during the mishap, but no person was reported dead or trapped. All workers were found safe and accounted for.
The law and order situation remains normal, and further verification is underway.
