The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) continued its enforcement drive against illegal construction and misuse of residential properties in the Karol Bagh Zone, carrying out one demolition and sealing four more properties on Sunday. With the latest action, the civic body has sealed 11 properties over the last three days as part of its crackdown.
The demolition action was carried out at Plot No. 19A, Road No. 10, Jaidev Park, East Punjabi Bagh, with the assistance of the local police from PS Punjabi Bagh and the MCD demolition squad.
During the operation, five RCC slab panels at the roof level of the ground floor were demolished, reinforcement bars were cut using a gas cutter, and illegally constructed walls and columns on the first floor were also razed.
In a parallel enforcement drive, MCD sealed four basement properties for the misuse of residential premises. The sealed properties are located at 11/17 and 11/15, East Patel Nagar, and 2/14 and 29/41, West Patel Nagar. The premises were sealed at multiple entry points in accordance with the action taken by the civic body.
Officials said the latest operation forms part of MCD’s ongoing campaign to curb unauthorized construction and the commercial misuse of residential properties across the Karol Bagh Zone.
Over the past three days, the corporation has sealed 11 properties while continuing strict enforcement against violations of building and land-use norms.
