The Foreigner Cell of the Special Staff, Central District, has apprehended six Bangladeshi nationals for allegedly violating the conditions of their Double Entry Visas during a special verification drive under Operation VISTA 1.0 (Visa Status Verification).
According to Delhi Police, the action followed an extensive verification and inspection at a hotel on Arakashan Road in Nabi Karim, where six Bangladeshi nationals were found staying. During verification of their passports, visas and immigration records, police found that all six had legally entered India on Double Entry Visas, which permitted them to stay in the country for a maximum of 15 days per visit.
However, the verification revealed that all six had overstayed beyond the permissible period, thereby violating the conditions of their visas.The six foreign nationals were immediately apprehended and produced before the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).
The FRRO initiated legal proceedings, issued Restriction Orders and directed that they be shifted to the Detention Centre at Sewa Dham, Shahzada Bagh, Sarai Rohilla, pending completion of deportation formalities.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as:- Shafi Imam Nafis Siddiquee (31), resident of Sylhet, Bangladesh.- Eahea Ahtesham (31), resident of Sylhet, Bangladesh.- Asif Molla (21), resident of Gopalganj, Bangladesh.- MD Bulbul Hossain (20), resident of Sirajganj, Bangladesh.- Hasan Sheikh (24), resident of Gopalganj, Bangladesh.- Most Tisha Khatun (21), resident of Sirajganj, Bangladesh.
Police said legal proceedings have been initiated through the FRRO under the applicable provisions governing violations of visa conditions and the stay of foreign nationals in India. Deportation proceedings are also underway.
During the operation, police seized six Bangladeshi passports, six Indian Double Entry Visas, immigration and travel-related documents, as well as hotel stay records and identity documents for verification and legal proceedings.
According to Delhi Police, no previous criminal involvement of any of the six Bangladeshi nationals has come to light during verification. The present action relates solely to the alleged violation of visa conditions by overstaying beyond the period permitted under their visas.Delhi Police said the operation is part of its ongoing enforcement drive under Operation VISTA 1.0, aimed at identifying foreign nationals violating visa norms and ensuring compliance with India’s immigration laws.
