A tragic incident unfolded in JP Nagar, New Usmanpur, on August 2 when the roof of a single-storey house suddenly collapsed, burying two tenants under the debris. Police at PS New Usmanpur received the alert and rushed to the spot, where rescuers pulled out the victims — identified as Tinku (32), son of Soran Singh, and his wife Urmila (30). Both were taken to JPC Hospital but were declared brought dead by doctors.
The bodies have since been sent to GTB Hospital for post-mortem examination. Authorities have registered FIR No. 526/26 under Sections 290/106(1) BNS against the house owner, Virender Kumar. Police officials confirmed that further investigation is underway to determine accountability and prevent such negligence in the future.
