New Delhi: A portion of a building collapsed at Pahari Bhojla in Delhi on Monday morning, prompting a police response and precautionary evacuation of people from the affected area.
According to the incident report, a PCR call was received at around 11:22 AM at PS Chandni Mahal regarding the collapse at 1569, Pahari Bhojla. Police personnel immediately reached the spot, secured the area and shifted people present there to a safe location.
Vehicles lying under or near the debris were also removed carefully. No person sustained injuries in the incident, although approximately 3–4 scooties/motorcycles were damaged in the collapse.
The building was found to be in a dilapidated condition. Police said the MCD had already issued a notice regarding the condition of the building, while repair work was reportedly underway.
Necessary action is being taken in coordination with the concerned MCD authorities in accordance with law and procedure.
