A 14‑year‑old boy sustained injuries after a projected slab (chhajja) of a house suddenly collapsed in Prem Nagar, under PS Anand Parvat jurisdiction, late Saturday morning.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 11:30 AM when the boy, identified as A., was playing in the street. The falling slab struck him on the head, causing a deep wound. His mother rushed him to Acharya Bhikshu Hospital, where doctors administered immediate treatment. The boy received 7–8 stitches and was discharged later in the day. He is reported to be stable and recovering at home.
Following the collapse, officials from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the local Nigam Parshad inspected the site. Police personnel also reached the spot and cordoned off the premises with safety tape to prevent further mishaps.
No PCR call or medico‑legal case (MLC) was registered at the police station. The boy’s parents have stated they do not wish to pursue legal action against the house owner, citing a long‑standing relationship of over four decades between the two families.
Authorities have assured that precautionary measures are being taken to secure the building and prevent recurrence. The incident underscores the risks posed by aging or unsafe structures in densely populated localities, highlighting the need for vigilance and timely civic intervention.
