The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has pressed forward with its sweeping enforcement campaign against unsafe structures, unauthorized constructions, and violations of the Master Plan of Delhi (MPD) and Building Bye-Laws across all 12 zones of the capital.
According to officials, 11 demolition actions were executed yesterday across multiple zones, while four properties were sealed for non-compliance with statutory building regulations.
This comes on the heels of Saturday’s extensive drive, during which 33 properties were demolished and five sealed, underscoring the Corporation’s resolve to intensify checks and corrective measures against violators.
Key Actions Across Zones
- South West Zone: Demolition carried out at Bijwasan.
- North East Zone: Dilshad Colony and Dilshad Garden saw enforcement against unauthorized structures.
- Old Delhi Zone: Multiple properties faced demolition and sealing orders.
- East Zone: Sealing action undertaken against violators.
PG Accommodation Survey Expands
Parallel to demolition and sealing drives, MCD is conducting a city-wide survey of Paying Guest (PG) accommodations to build a comprehensive database for regulatory action. So far, 2,114 PG buildings have been identified, housing thousands of occupants.
