The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has intensified its enforcement drive against dangerous buildings, unauthorized constructions and violations of the Master Plan of Delhi (MPD) and Building Bye-Laws across all 12 zones of the city.
As part of the intensive enforcement exercise carried out today, 40 demolition actions were undertaken across all 12 zones of MCD. In addition, 8 properties were sealed and 14 demolition orders were passed against properties found in violation of applicable building norms and regulations.
MCD had also carried out enforcement action yesterday, during which 11 properties were demolished and 4 other properties were sealed for violations of the Master Plan of Delhi and Building Bye-Laws.
Major Demolition Actions Taken
During todayтАЩs enforcement drive, major demolition actions were carried out in T.C. Camp, Block-T, Pandav Nagar; East Patel Nagar; Regharpura, Karol Bagh; Mata Rameshwari, Nehru Nagar; and Naraina Industrial Area, Phase-I.
In East Zone, enforcement action was taken at East Vinod Nagar, Mayur Vihar Phase-II, Raghubarpura and Dharampura in Gandhi Nagar. In North Zone, demolition action was undertaken in Malka Ganj.
Comprehensive Survey of PG Buildings Across Delhi
As part of its continued enforcement and inspection initiative, MCD is also conducting a comprehensive field survey of Paying Guest (PG) accommodation buildings across Delhi with the objective of creating a comprehensive database and chalking out a further course of action.
As part of the survey conducted so far, approximately 2,453 buildings where PG facilities are operational have been identified across Delhi. MCD is continuing the survey and inspection exercise to assess compliance with applicable building norms and other statutory requirements.
